We resell hosting services provided by very well established, trusted suppliers who are chosen for their reliability and value for money. Currently all servers are located in the USA but we will consider Australian-based hosting depending on performance and demand.
Our servers achieve well over 99.95% uptime. You can check current statistics here: daimon (Cpanel server), ythron (special hosting server).
We will carefully consider any suggestions for alternative hosting arrangements, but please bear in mind that a long-established reputation for top-class reliability is our first priority - we can't afford to let our customers down.
Yes, we can set up your web site on another hosting provider or your ISP's web hosting, provided that the hosting solution you choose meets all the requirements of your site. In this case you will be responsible for any payments to the other hosting provider and any issues of downtime / reliability will be between you and them. There is no reduction in price for assisted and fully-managed hosting on another server as the cost of hosting space is balanced by our additional administration costs.
Currently our servers are using FreeBSD and Fedora Linux. We have no plans to operate MS Windows-based servers.
First try to get hold of an analysis of your site's access log. This will give you lots of useful information such as:
Armed with this infomation you should be able to guess what the problem is. Maybe no-one can find your site (see next question), or they come expecting something completely different. Worst of all maybe they don't like what they see. At least you'll know...
Publicise your web-site in any way you can, on and off the internet (studies suggest that advertising web-sites in the "real world" is more effective than advertising on the web). Make sure that the site contains all the elements used by search engines to classify it and keep monitoring the search engines to ensure that they include as many as possible of your pages. Resubmit your pages whenever required, but beware of resubmitting a page to a search engine which already has it well placed.
To do this properly takes a lot of hard work and some specialist software that handles it for you. Our assisted and fully-managed hosting plans include search engine verification for up to 10 search phrases and submitting your site to the major search engines where appropriate. See full list of included work on managed hosting accounts.
If you prefer to do this yourself please avoid the free programs that claim to submit your site to 500 or so search engines. It's generally accepted that these will generate nothing but a mountain of spam! We can recommend WebPosition Gold - not free but much more useful! (A limited but functional trial version is available for free download).
